Re: Please recommend some mono recordings

If you're looking for "vintage" mono recordings, they did a great job remastering the Beatles entire catalog in mono--it was released on 9/9/09. There is a mono box set that has all their full length albums remastered plus many singles etc. on CD. A lot of fans prefer the mono Beatles remasters (and mixes) to the stereo remasters. They did use some Altec speakers at Abbey Road Studios when recording back in the 60's. In fact, several months ago someone here posted a photo of the Beatles in the studio with an Altec monitor in the shot (I remember John Lennon was standing right next to the Altec).......

Look for some of the middle -late 50's RCA "Red Seal" albums if you like classical.

    "High Fidelity" is your clue...

The Beatles must have had a performance or photo shoot that day. John and Ringo are in 'uniform'.

I searched on Ebay under 'CD mono' and 'LP mono' and was pleasantly surpised at what is available.
Opinion is only as valid as its verifiable supporting evidence.
